Hand cast with a chrome, nickel, or brass finish, this mascot adorned the bonnets of many cars in the 1920' and 30's.  It was made by A.E. Lejeune, then marketed and retailed by Historical Telcote Ltd. located at Carlton House, Regent Street, London SW1 (Hence being named "The Telcote Pup").  Some also had coloured glass eyes fitted, but it's not known if they glowed when being driven.  They sold for 3 guineas in 1923.  One such mascot replaced the 'Spirit of Ecstasy' statue on film and stage actor Jack Buchanan's Rolls Royce!

At least two other Bonzo mascots were made by the Lejeune company.  The one on the left has a chrome / nickel finish & the one on the right is brassed.

The company who originally made these mascots is continues in business today, and still have the original casting moulds.  They will cast a new 'original' on request, with a chrome, nickel, or even a bronze finish!  If you'd like one, contact:

Other examples I have found -

Both of these are also by the Lejeune company.  Note the one on the right is mounted differently from the brassed version above, but otherwise the same.

Both of these are by unknown makers.  The one on the left has a hinged upper torso and jaw that opens his mouth as it leans forward.  The one on the right is missing his back feet!
