This was a weekly publication on low quality newspaper-type paper & only in black & white.  Studdy made two main types of contribution to this publication; firstly the usual full, half, or quarter-page cartoon of a topical subject, which sometimes was used as the title page of the magazine, and secondly he would illustrate the review of that week's theatrical stage play for the "Puppet Show" feature.  For this, he would slip into the show, unknown to the cast, and do quick sketches during the performances.  These were then used to create the caricature sketches of the actors or little illustrations of a scene from the play.  These then illustrated the text of the critic "Autolycus".  It is not known when he started working for this publication, but the earliest contribution I've found so far was from the Christmas Number of 1915, titled The Showman's Annual.
