No. VI. (And last) -- The Last State of Woman
The object on the pedestal, at which the figures are cynically
gazing,
can be identified by a glance at the three letters immediately
below
it. If enlightenment is still desired as to the connection
of
this with the
last state
of
Woman, as distinct from her first, as recorded by Genesis, the
reply is
that the artist believes in atavism, or reversion to type.
He is
solemnly warned to keep clear of the Suffragettes for a few weeks.
